Extract text from PDF into CSV for Excel.
PDF to Excel extracts readable text from each page of a PDF and saves it as CSV you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice. Extraction runs with PDF.js in your browser — free to start and private for text-based PDFs.
Many “PDF tables” are just positioned text. This tool pulls text items per page, joins them into lines, and splits columns on wide whitespace gaps so spreadsheet apps can import a usable CSV. It works best on text-based PDFs (exported from Word, reports, invoices), not on pure scans without OCR.
Nothing is uploaded for conversion: the file is read locally, rows are built in memory, and a CSV download starts automatically. After export you can open the CSV in Excel and use Text to Columns or Power Query if spacing was uneven. For true spreadsheet files already in CSV/XLSX form, use our spreadsheet converters instead.
Scanned pages or image-only PDFs will produce little or no text — run OCR elsewhere or use Image to Word for photos of tables, then paste into a sheet.

Layout is inferred from whitespace, so merged cells and multi-level headers often need cleanup. Simple tabular exports convert best.
Unlock the PDF first with PDF Unlock (if you know the password), then run PDF to Excel on the decrypted file.
