This tool samples frames from your video (muted playback in a canvas pipeline), quantizes colors with an in-browser GIF encoder, and produces a downloadable animated GIF. You control frames per second, maximum width, and how many seconds of the clip to encode so file size stays manageable.
Encoding is CPU- and memory-heavy. Prefer Chrome or Edge on desktop, use short clips (roughly under 10 seconds; the tool defaults toward brief segments), lower FPS, and a modest width (for example 320px) for faster runs. Large HD files can freeze a tab—trim the source first when possible.
Because work happens on-device, your clip does not need to be uploaded just to become a GIF. Fair daily limits may apply for guests and free accounts. For polished marketing assets you may still prefer professional editors; for quick demos and reactions, browser GIF export is ideal.
